Let’s be honest: just because you’re at a play cafe doesn’t mean you should have to compromise on your coffee, your lunch, or your values.
Over the last few months at The Wild Things Play Project, we’ve been taking a hard look at our cafe menu. We wanted to elevate the food and drink you enjoy while the kids burn off their energy, and we wanted to make sure every pound spent at our counter does a little bit of good for the planet and our local community.
That’s why we’ve completely overhauled our supplier list. We’re incredibly proud to introduce our new, ethically sourced, and locally championed cafe lineup:

A great flat white needs great milk. We’ve switched our dairy to Cornish Whole Barista Milk, supporting local West Country dairy farmers and giving you the richest, silkiest coffee possible. For our dairy-free guests, we are thrilled to be pouring Minor Figures Regenerative Oat Milk. Not only is it certified gluten-free, but it’s made using regenerative farming practices that actively restore the soil and fight climate change.
If you’ve tried one of our grilled toasties recently and wondered why the bread is suddenly next-level, here is the secret: Hylsten Bakery. We are now using their incredible County Sourdough. It’s locally baked, properly fermented, and makes for a toastie that rivals any artisan bakery on the high street.
We’ve revamped our yoghurt and fresh fruit bowls using Bio & Me Granola. Created by The Gut Health Doctor, it’s packed with diverse plant-based goodness, zero refined sugars, and tastes amazing. It’s the perfect mid-morning fuel for both adults and toddlers.
We’ve ditched the standard corporate soft drinks. Our fridges are now stocked with Karma Drinks (organic, Fairtrade, and part of a foundation that gives back to the cola nut growers in Sierra Leone) and Counter Culture Kombucha for a refreshing, gut-friendly hit.
For that mid-afternoon sugar fix, we are now stocking Tony’s Chocolonely. Aside from being dangerously chunky and delicious, Tony’s is on a mission to make 100% slave-free chocolate the industry norm. Every bar bought supports fair wages for cocoa farmers.
Because we believe in doing things right. We want to serve food and drink that supports local Devon and Cornwall suppliers, protects the environment, and, most importantly, tastes absolutely fantastic.
The new menu is live right now. Next time you’re in for a play session, grab a Hylsten sourdough toastie and a Cornish milk latte, and let us know what you think!
